I think that this season has disapointed some what with players like Lampard, Gerrard, Henry and Rooney failing to produce the standards that is expected of them and Shevchenko, Ballack and West Hams' Argie duo failing to adapt to the Premier league. On current form Drogba, Johnson and even Cristiano 'Cheat' Ronaldo are all playing at a high standard. I think though that Henry is the best player in the premier league.

Attack - Thierry Henry (no doubt, perhaps the best striker in the world today)
Midfield - Steven Gerrard & Frank Lampard
Defence - John Terry
Goalkeeper - Jens Lehmann & Edwin van der Sar
Among these, the most gifted footballer is probably Thierry Henry.

Steven Gerrard! The bloke can play anywere on the pitch and do it well. He is a great leader and can motivate the players around him. He has pulled Liverpool out of trouble on several occasions. He can defend, tackle, pass, cross and score!
