Well ideally every thing should be in grabbing distance so when something stops working u can grab it and throw it out the window or maybe at your co-workers. You should have space for a carrier pigeon for use when your email goes down for the fifth time in two hours.

Installing some chains to ensure the IT guy actually fixes your PC before he leaves could be useful as well as a deodorant holder in case said IT man isn't the freshest in existence.

I think that just about covers it all except for a squeaky turkey, a giant blue microbe and some weird Japanese stuff. what? I have them on my desk!

I have a very cheap computer desk that fits into a corner, that is shaped like three sides of a stopsign. It has a keyboard cutout section, so that I can get closer to the screen and cross my legs or prop them up on a footstool (under the desk) if I want to. Equipment on desk from left to right: phone, battery backup,keyboard/monitor riser tray with slideout keyboard tray. On top of this sits a multi-switch box that LCD monitor sits on top of.and then tower to the far right of desk. (No bending over for me... :). Speakers fit behind LCD on left and right side and microphone on right(before actual tower) because I am right handed. "Sticky-back" hook on tower to hold headset. To me this is the ideal set-up. Have used for over 2 years and it functions fantastic!
