I am interested in getting the 4pcs cooking set of stainless steel pots from IKEA (365+ series). It has three layers at the base for better conduction of heat - stainless steel, aluminium, stainless steel. The price is reasonable (compared to WMF brand) but I am not sure whether the pots and pans from IKEA is durable. How about the WMF stainless steel pots? They look pretty impressive too but the price a little pricey. Which brand (WMF or IKEA) is better? Please provide feedback if you have used it before.

WMF pots are heavier but last very long - does not chip, break and go black that quickly. Also, WMF pots tend to heat up more evenly and also retain heat for longer. WMF pots are designed to last for 20 years.

IKEA has the cheaper pots, but like all things in IKEA, they are meant to be replaced within 5 years. It works well for light cooking, but if you are a serious cook, you would find the pots a liitle light-weight and unevenly heated to be useful.

You pay for what you get.
