Some Irish people probably did. But the famine was so great that millions of people were starving, so hunting/fishing was not a viable option for feeding such a large portion of the population.

No the famine became using Phytophthora infestans , 70 % of the flora died, the rustic experienced the worst tragedy-ever. different international places shipped IN foodstuff stuffs to attempt to assist in spite of the indisputable fact that it wasn't adequate. some delivered foodstuff in and envisioned to receives a fee yet did not understand the rustic became no longer only ravenous, they were undesirable. They couldn't purchase some thing so the foodstuff stopped coming. in case you opt for better techniques attempt The Irish Famine- provided by skill of the BBC. It became a devastating time, on the purpose of one million lost their lives. The 'landlords' that the British needed responsible for the total travesty were broke themselves. Deeply in debt and close to financial ruin. Brits weren't fairing all that properly themselves. They experienced economic crashes. No, i don't think of there have been 'wealthy' prospering in eire.

A lot of their meals were potato based, so hunting wasn't enough. If most of what you eat is gone, it's not easy to find a source elsewhere.
