I am an abused child and I subsequently entered an abusive relationship without knowing and I got abused. I'm hurt, however, I am hopeful. I know I have to deal with these issues and I'm wondering where to start. I am seeing a counselor; however, I feel like I need to see her almsost constantly.

It takes time, honey. I was emotionally and physically abused as a child. I went through 6 years of counseling for it. I was in an emotionally abusive marriage. I went through 2 years of counseling for that one, which also brought back the memories of my childhood abuse. You're doing the right thing by seeing a counselor. It does help to have a neutral listener to help you sort things out. Remember, it wasn't your fault. But, you also need to learn to recognize some of the characteristics that could end up as abuse later. Stay hopeful though. Not all men are like this.

It's hard I want though something like it and let me tell you it took a long time for me to feel better. First step is to talk as much as you need to and if you need to repeat the same thing over and over do it. For me I had to talk about the thing that happen many time it took me 4 or 5 years to deal with all the abuse I went through. I'm now 21 and I have been blessed by God. Remember your loved. talk and write or sit and think about what you really need or want.

yes i would agree with you...you need to seek help but the needing almost constantly discuss this with ur counsellor and see what u guys come up with she will know how much u need to see her and what ur needs are and if she can meet them

or get a religion and consult the priest

YOU must see frequently your Therapist so that you would fully recover from it.

i am manic depressive, and when i am really down i just place my hands together and talk to god.. its extremely relaxing and takes alot of stress off me.. i am not a church fanatic.. and i never go to church.. but in times of need just talk to god and yourself.. goodluck
