I agree...to a point, but without the gun in the picture, do you think the same outcome would have happened? I think guns are rad...If you've shot one at a range (or even in a ghetto battle), you would understand the sense of power you get when you squeeze the trigger and feel the gun recoil. It's pretty incredible. I still feel guns cause more problems than they are worth and have never felt the need to own one. Why do you feel the need? Why should it be your right?

All you have to do is read the facts. In every State that relaxed the Conceal Carry laws so the citizenry can carry weapons, THE MURDER RATE HAS GONE DOWN DRASTICALLY!

In Austrailia and England in the last few years, after passing strict no gun laws, crime and murders have INCREASED DRASTICALLY!

A simple Google search will give you the truth about gun ownership. You will also get all the lies of the Anti Gun Left also.

Of course it is true, thousands of wars were fought before guns were even invented. There are many ways to harm someone, and I have never seen or heard of a gun killing someone without a person holding on to it. I have been shooting guns for about 16 years and I have never experienced this "sense of power" you are talking about. I have fired some very powerful guns, yet I do not relate with you there. A gun has never caused a problem in the history of the world- although not having access to guns has been a problem, just ask the people of Germany during WW2. I need guns for personal defense, and for fun. An afternoon of shooting tin cans in the mountains is a blast!
Why should it be a right? Are you serious? To protect myself and my family!! Freedom is far more important than false security, which is all you get from gun control.

If you really want the answer to this and not just a chance to express your personal concerns. Go to the Federal Governments web site and look at the statistics. Look at how many violent crimes are stopped by the personal use of a firearm
Most people that do get a real surprise.
Also if you outlaw guns the only thing that accomplishes in most cases is the felon is the only one with a gun. If I am thinking of killing someone or committing an armed robbery, do you think the gun violation is a detriment.Do you think if I know I could get life in prison for murder, I'm not going to do it because I might get two more years added for the illegal weapon? Look at the gun laws in NY and DC. Some of the toughest in the world, and yet their crime rate is out of control.

You can get that same power feeling with other weapons as well. If it's not a gun, they'll use a knife or something else.

You can get a BIG sense of power driving a huge truck too, and you could really do some damage. We had a nut driving all over the place in a tank until the police had to kill him. He didn't need a gun, and the turret (?) did not work, thank God! He was definitely endangering many many lives.

I'm pretty good with a fork if you ask my poor brother, but we were really little kids then, and I really don't remember it but he does! (All the way into the sinus cavity - BUT HE HIT ME FIRST!!)

That's not something I would EVER do now, and I've never forgiven myself, but we were little and I really don't remember hiding behind the door waiting for him, as the story goes. Just so you all know. I use forks to eat with now. :)

Guns have no mind of their own. They are only tools. They are the tools with which the Founding Fathers threw out a tyrannical government. It is not a question of whether you, or I, or anyone else thinks it should or should not be a right. It simply is the right of all persons to own weapons. The Second Amendment does not create this right, it existed before the Constitution was written. I feel the need to own guns in order to defend the right to be free from a tyrannical government. People who doubt the absolute nature of this right should not be trusted with any position of government authority.

It is true. The need becomes apparent as long as there are weak and strong people in the world. Those who are weak - be it physically or mentally, will always feel that they have to protect themselves from the strong. Nothing says back off like a barrel of a gun pointed at you. You can bet the caveman felt this way too...they just had rocks!! Seriously, evolution is designed to weed out the weaker of species. Humans just decided to tell evolution to **** off and stupidity is spreading. Along with our population.

It's not the gun that kills people. It's the idiot that picks one up and uses it. Obviously we need guns for a reason, but if you aren't trained to own one or operate one then sure, the idiot that picks one up and fires it will kill someone. A gun CANNOT FIRE IT'S SELF! Ask the donkey-hole that killed someone by accident.
He/She was probably an idiot or un-educated low-life.
And it is in our Constitution The Right To Bear Arms... It should say only if you are educated.
Stupid people need to be shot!

people kill people; even accidentally. guns are tools not rad.
that sense of power you've felt is psychological. after Homer Simpson first fired a gun he said he then knew how God must
feel when He fires a gun. our country's founders felt we should preserve the right to arm ourselves because they weren't sure
we'd be able to trust our own government at some point and
it appears that may be true.

i don't think guns kill people ,it's the person holding the gun that kills, guns cannot make the decision that you can,i believe that if you are allowed to buy a gun they need to pass a law where the gun shops are located on the side of a police station and have an attachment to the building maker it harder for sellers to sell, and buyers to buy, not to mention you would have to go throughthe police station first to get a permit and and be ran through the system first before you can purchase one.
