I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier Pickup 2.4 ltr 4 cyl engine. Auto tran with 78,000 miles.
I had just picked my truck up from the dealer repair center after an accident in july. The entire frontend suspension system was replaced with a good amount of body work to the left front, but I was advised to get a brake job FAST.
I take the car to a Midas brake shop today. The manager tells me i need new brake pads, and rotors on both sides. He showed me the grooves and it wasn't pretty. So 500 dollars and five hours later I have new pads and rotors. He then proceeds to inform me that the dealership goofed on my repair and installed the wrong spindle . He said it was too small in diameter and causing too much freeplay with the bearings. He said it was safe to drive home and to take it to the dealership tommorow morning and demand that they give me the correct parts at no cost or labor.
I am still hearing grinding from the front left brake. I smells like metal. What can i do? Help.

I did also get new bearings from the dealership and the midas manager gave me another set of bearings on the front left(courtesy)
I have my old brake pads and my old rotors, they look like a record and feel like i could sand wood with them.
Do you knowledgable folks believe that it is in fact the spindle/steering knuckle assembly being the wrong size that could be causing the scraping sound, even after the new brake pads, rotors and wheel bearings?
And do you think the dealership would have the parts onhand? Thanks for the fast replies you are all awesome :)

i did as you good folks suggested and took the car back to the dealership . The Cust service rep. said they would dissasemble the front end again to check out the problem but they would need the midas store managers theory in writing. This works out because he agreed to write a letter yesterday and mail it to us. So I will keep you all posted on what happens from here. thank you.
