Why is it when someone writes a poem and it happens to be good but they are not an author people assume that they didn't write the poem? I just had a guy send me a message saying “Sent To: Mystique
RE: I don't think that's you. I liked your poem selections”

Now I wasn't sure if he was talking about my profile pic or my poems at 1st. Then when I saw selections I knew what he was referring to. Selections, like I picked someone else's poems and copy wrote them as if they were mine. I don't know whether to take that as an insult or a compliment.

Insult: Those are too good to have been written by you (like he is saying I am dumb or like I plagiarized them)

Compliment: Those are too good to have been written by someone who is not an author. (Like I am good enough that I fooled him by making him think that I really didn’t write them)

You can view those poems on my 360 page

I told him that those were not “selections.” And that if he ever see’s those poems written by someone else then to let me know because I would sue them; and i have the proof to do it.

Just take it as a compliment that whomever it was liked your work, then forget about him and everything else he said. People who make an effort to insult you aren't worth troubling about.
As an aside, I respectfully submit that if you write, you're an author, regardless of whether or not that's your actual profession.

Human emotions can pop out in various learn and/or misinterpret approaches. You can check out making use of a dictionary to upgrade your ordinary vocabulary and your vocabulary concerning rhymed phrases and sentences earlier than making use of them in a train of writing poems or another varieties of expressive texts. But the fewer you utilize them the much more likely you're to believe such as you forgot approximately them,i suppose. You would attempt to write down or style up common sentences first earlier than seeking to change a few phrases with rhyming synonyms or phrases. It can take time however however, time will preserve on going in any case.So although you failed and felt like switching to one other subjectively less difficult type of exaggerated expression,it would possibly not appear like a waste of time in case you didn't consider and believe so.You would learn poems and/or use that wish of writing poems in,for instance, seeking to write a poem approximately the act of writing poems and your relative emotions and aspects(in case you felt the sort of wish even as googling a few maybe rather discouraging-from some way of watching at it-stuff)...

Frankly speaking, I think you have been unnecessarily burning your valuable strength in thinking too much about that guy's remark about your poetry. Well, he might have said so in innocent manner......But it should not mean that you are to divert your attention on that matter more. Just forget the episode and keep thinking on the new aspects of your talent in poetry. By the way, you do have marvelous spark in your writing style... use it for concrete purpose.....Best luck.

"People assume?" As far as I can tell, you had one guy assume. Granted it annoyed you, but what is the point of your assuming that others also make the same assumption this pointy-head did?
