Haha, don't take this the wrong way but I think the confusion you are making is really sweet. I regularly get a strike of genius and understand in full something I hadn't understood in full before.

"frank" is an adjective, it means honest, straightforward.
So if you say "To be frank, I think your tie is revolting", it is the same as if you said "To be honest, I think your tie is revolting".

well to be funny..I believe frank was a person in late 30eez who only spoke franklee..thus a union named this fraze over him:P n yea u can use to be straight also..describing yer gender;)
