Both occupations have similar attractions. I personally would prefer to be a soldier based on my experience as a retired serviceman. Generally both jobs emphasize teamwork, discipline and responsibility far greater than that found in most vocations. I believe military life offers more opportunities for a wide variety of duties. In addition, when serving in the military you can "see the world," whereas in police work you tend to stay in the same geographic location. (I have two close relatives who are policemen and neither have left their home state.) If you're still not sure, you can always get a taste of both by becoming a military policeman. That experience will give you an advantage later on if you decide to go into civilian law enforcement. If you like the military, but want to stay closer to home, consider service in the National Guard or Reserves while getting a job with a local police department.

I've been both. They are completely different (except for an MP). I really don't understand the question. Being in the Army is a lot like a regular full time job after boot camp, just with more rules and such, but basically you go to work every day (or night) then come home. There are so many different occupations in the Army that you'll really have to be more specific. About the only thing they have in common is that they are both hard and thankless for the most part, and you're probably not going to get rich doing either without doing something illegal. You have to be disciplined in either case. If you want structure, the army is better. I guess they're both dangerous these days but we weren't in a war when I was enlisted.

My friend i like to be police officer because in army their is only command we cannot disobey it and the ruler who rules the nation take the dessication and the soldier takes the gun without any knowledge. Examples plenty like Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine much more. But police person have some chance to have word with criminals, they can also been turned in normal persons. The court is their for them to explain their point of view. The police person is here only to protect the people and not to scare them

Police Officer - better pay, get to sleep in your own bed, you are less likely to be killed on the job, you get to see your family more often, you get to choose where you want to work, you know who the enemy is.
Similarities - not everyone thinks you're the good guy.
