Ooooooh... you fibber... it's October 6th... that's not Winter... it's only just Autumn!
Firstly we need more detail.. where about in the UK [it will make a significant difference - but if you have a banana plant I guess your down south]
Secondly - is it in a pot?
Thirdly - How old is it?
Fourthly - how high/wide is it?
If it's mature you could protect its' roots with straw with hessien sacking wrapped around its main trunk [replace when wet before a severe frost].
Leave the full growth on and allow the ends of the stems to die through Winter and then cut them back [prune] late winter/early spring - aiming to protect any new growth when you cut back.
However all solutions depend upon the answers to the questions above!
Hope your banana plant is fair trade...

i might propose locate somebody who's have been given one after that have them supply you this is offshoots. right now of 12 months in the united kingdom, banana plant life tend to be producing quite a few offsping, which if separated from the unique extremely immediately will grow to be a well-being self reliant plant. in case you do it that way, you recognize that the plant you're nurturing has come from a healthful discern, quite than taking the lottery of going to a DIY departmental shop or a backyard centre and buying one that would have been artificially brought about with the aid of extensive quantities of additions and hours in a greenhouse which will basically wither and die the 1st time this is placed right into a house.

Cover the Plant loosely with the B/W making sure that it is under the Pot too.
Just make a few punctures in the Bubbles so that it doesn't Sweat to much.
Put it in your Shed or Garage if you have one.

The best thing to do is to make a tube around it with bubble wrap and then stuff all the sides with straw. That should keep all the frost out. Take particular care with the crown.
