I didn't get to see it in the theaters, although I saw the first two on opening night. Being a mother sure changes things lol. But anywayz... I just got through watching it and I was wondering if anyone else was as upset about they way they decided to end it as I was? I know there are rumors of a fourth one, but what would be the point. I wanted to see Rogue get her new powers, but they kinda made that impossible. They've gotten rid of most of the best characters. According to the comics the Phoenix was not actually Gene but another being who took on her form and Gene was actually in a cacoon somewhere and emerges later. but these movies seemed to have strayed from the comics. And I for one am a bit frustrated with it. The Angel was actually one of the original x-men and he didn't even come in until the 3rd movie and wasn't much of a character.
continued.... keep reading further....

I think that the only way for them to make a 4th movie and maybe salvage what they did to it. Would be to say that the cure was only temporary and it would wear off eventually. Thus giving Magneto his powers back as well as Rogue. I would love to see her get the powers she got in the comics and hey you can't have another x-men movie without magneto and it would be nice to see mistique get her powers back as well, I felt kinda sorry for her. And because it is hollywood they could dream up a way to make it so that Scott is actually alive somehow. Also Ice Man was actually one of the original x-men as well it kinda bugged me that they made him so young. I realize that they have to hollywoodetize things but I wish they would make a fourth one and kinda vear back towards the comics.

I'm just wondering if I am the only one who feels this way.

I do think that the 3rd movie was good in a lot of ways. They did the Phoenix very well. Am I the only one disappointed?

I thought they did ok with the first one, they were off to a good start. The second one kinda started to frustrate me but they just topped it off with the third one. I really hope they do come out with a fourth and make the comic lovers happy lol. I guess as long as they don't screw up the spider man movies but they probably will do that too.

THANK YOU!! Someone else who agrees with me and the whole comic thing. I have been so fed up with all of these movies that stray away from the original comics and books! They also did not introduce Gambit, WTF Gambit is.......just......How the hell could they not introduce Gambit. And the whole Kitty and Bobby thing? What was that? Kitty kinda ends up with Pioter(Colossus). They dont even do something with Jubilee, even though we see her in all 3 movies. I think she's mentioned in all 3. And killing Scott(Cyclops)? They just need to stop making movies!!

I just watched it tonight and was a bit conflicted. Didn't feel the thing they did with Rogue fit (they had an alternate ending where she didn't do it and that did fit). I saw magneto slightly move the chess piece, too. I think they have left things open for those that were (disintergrated?) by Jean to possibly come back from another state of being. Seemed to pretty much kill her off, though. Yep, I read Halley Berry doesn't want to do any more action type movies. Hear this may be the last one, also, but they certainly left it open for another. I think of the 3 I liked the second one the best. THe third was good, but had frustrating parts in it.

Good Movie

They are likely to make another .

All of the characters will or can come back in the next movie.

Magneto is getting his powers back at the chess board.

His antibodies are fighting off the cure serum and that means every super hero is doing the same including Rogue and Mystique.

As for Charles, if you watched the credits he comes back too. And if he can come back, anyone killed by Phoenix can come back too and possible Phoenix can come back. As a matter of fact she could come back in both roles.

I can't help you with the they didn't follow the comic book stuff but they can bring every one back.

The problem is that Hallie Berry is not wanting to come back and salaries are getting high. If ticket sales and video sales don't pick up then this might have been the last movie.

I never read the X-men comics, but from the three X-Men movies that are out, I like the 3rd one the best. It has a lot of drama not just the usual action, but don't get me wrong, the action is still quite plenty. A lot of new characters, and they gave the whole humans vs mutants a fresh twist too.
I would love to see the 4th X-Men, and I have to agree, it's sad that they took away Rogue's superpowers, I actually like her.

I think they left it open for a 4th one.
