Great Papal leadership and response to the call The muslim world was disunited which paved the way for the great success of the first Crusade. The second crusade was a disaster because by then the muslim world had united.

Success? A gang of murderers trudges 600 miles to kill people just because they are standing on a particular piece of dirt?
I am a Christian. The crusades were perpetrated by a gang of misguided zealots who waged war for no Godly reason. The time is way past that we ought to acknowledge our mistakes. Through the zeal of modern Muslims the rest of the world is still paying for this mistake.
