I was reading someone else's questions about growing catnip, in which they also mentioned they really meant catnip not "pot", though reading the answers did sound a lot like what I have heard about growing marijuanna, anyways, WHY would someone want to grow catnip, I only have heard of it being useful in a cat toy, which is very easily and cheaply purchased at most stores. And it sounds very complicated to grow catnip, so why bother, what is the benefit. And WHY would someone think others would mistake catnip as a code for pot plants ARE the TWO RELATED in some way, and NO I don't want STONERS ONLY answers, I would like REAL answers.

I've actually considered growing catnip or maybe cat mint for my cat. It is supposed to be a very hearty plant and grows easily, plus I think my cat might enjoy a nice stroll in a garden full of catnip and/or cat mint. :) Plus, the natural stuff is supposed to be much better for kitty then the dried stuff you can buy at a store.

Catnip is relatively easy to grow. It can be used in tea as help for anxiety, restlessness. It can be smoked by people but it is only a Mild sedative. It is not related to cannabis in anyway shape or form. Mostly it is grown for and by someone that has cats as they love the stuff. It is easy to grow and cheaper that way if you have a cat that really likes it. you can get catnip seeds in most big pet stores, petsmart, petco etc. If you do grow it outside though whether you have a cat or not, they will come. it's an attractant to them. I didn't see the other questions, but if it sounds as though it was about growing pot, it probably was as Catnip is no problem to grow at all.

Catmint is a very pretty blue flowering plant. Maybe that is what some are talking about. I guess Catnip can be poor quality and probably the fresh plant is what cats like best. Good luck in solving your question.

If you have cats, they may like it and it is better for them than the store bought stuff. I don't think that catnip and marujuana are related, but they kind of smell alike when fresh.

catnip is easy to grow as any house plant or herb and some cats prefer it and fresh catgrass to the dried stuff.

In South Texas and other areas it is also grown as a deterrent for Japanese Beetles and Whiteflies! Organic pesticide, so to speak!
