In a lot of countries, the former.

In the U.S., the latter is supposed to be worse.

The idea used to be to attract all the people who feel the same way about it, and for those who prefer other countries' more draconian laws to move THERE instead of changing our free country!

That's a good question. I honestly couldn't say which is worse: they're both equally bad, if you're talking about a murder case or serious stuff.

If you're innocent and get Lethal Injection for a crime you did not commit, that is not reversible, but hopefully you would be with God, in a better place, but that wont really help your loved ones you leave behind...

If someone DID commit a murder, and is set free, then
they may end up killing more innocent people, and that is not good either.

Unfortunately, a lot of guilty go free, but some innocent have been given the death penalty. LOL: I could probably go back and forth on this one.

My final answer would have to be that I would rather see a guilty person go free, because God will get them later.
Although, the good guy who accidentally gets lethal injection will be with God too, we hope, so maybe I should say the other way, that way at least we still have the bad guy....

A guilty person going free can possibly be caught and punished in the future. Some might even suggest that the guilty person will one day be judged by a higher authority... But how can an innocent person who goes to jail ever get back the time he/she has lost?

I definitely feel that an innocent person going to jail is MUCH worse. First of all obviously they are being punished for no reason, and having their lives taken from them. The time spent incarcerated can NEVER be given back to them even if they win an appeal. But if a guilty person remains free they will still be punished daily in someway or another, if they have a conscience, or possibly the fact that they too aren't actually living freely because they are probably in hiding. So even though they are not locked up they are still not getting to enjoy freedom to it's fullest potential.
And most criminals that commit a crime and do not get caught, are more than likely to commit another offense, and if they did not get locked up for the first one, down the line they are bound to end up in prison anyway, so at least their time will eventually come, but you can NEVER give that time back to a person who loses their freedom for no fault of their own.

An innocent person in jail is much worse than a guilty person going free becasue the innocent persons liberty has been taken away and they are being puniched for something they did not do. to me thats worse than a person going free when they are guilty

An innocent person going to jail...

I think there is probably more guilty walking about than innocent people in jail.

You can ask any prisoner, they all say they are innocent!

An innocent person going to jail is worse of course.

But where to find a jail in the world to put all the guilty in?

an innocent person going to jail has to stay in jail for a crime he hasn't done whereas a guilty person roaming free can be caught one day or the other.

so, an innocent person going to jail is the worse one

why don't you turn yourself in for a crime you didn't commit and stay in jail for a few yrs then confess you didn't do it and let them do what they have to do toprove it,,,,then go out a commit a crime stay in jail for a few yrs and get out and see what the difference is yourself. most innoncent people lose a part of their lives forever, it ruins their chance for a good job, ruins their credit , basically screw up their chance for a normal peaceful happy life,, the guilty, well they will HOPEFULLY be prosecuted again,,many times they do ofend again,so what if they lose everything, it's their own fault for what they did and was their own choice, they chose the lazy way out of life. with all the money the government keeps and the excuses they use for not giving back to the public whose taxes paid for the money they keep,,they should build at least one more jail in each town or nearby town , and a new prison in each state.
