I only was able to find lyrics for one other song of the Belle Stars - sorry, no luck here on "80's romance", but according to some sources the lyrics are on the cover (it's on the same album as "Sign of the times"), so possibly someone who has the album can help...

Too Good To Be Forgotten was by Amazulu. The Belle Stars had hits with The Clapping Song, Sign of the Times and Iko Iko (from the film "Rain Man"). Sorry, can't help you with 80's Romance, though.

It will probably be their all time best single 'Sign of the times'. Cracking tune and very catchy

The Belle Stars had four hits and they are: "Iko Iko," "The Clapping Song," "Sign of the Times," and "Sweet Memory. These are the only songs that they ever recorded so if it is not one of these then the song you are looking for is not by the Belle Stars!

The Clapping Song Lyrics:
Three-six-nine the gosse drank wine. The monkey chew tobacco on the street car line. The line broke the monkey got choked And they all went to heaven in a little row boat. Clap Pat - Clap Pat - Clap Pat - Clap Slap! Clap Pat! Clap your hand Pat it on your partner's hand . . . Right hand. Clap Pat! Clap your hand cross it with your left arm Pat your partner's leff palm. Clap Pat! Clap your hand pat your partner's right palm With your right palm again. Clap Slap! Clap your hand Slap your thighs and sing a little song. My mama told me if I was goody That she would buy me a rubber dolly My Aunty told her I kissed a soldier Now she won't buy me a rubber dolly. Three-six-nine the goose drank wine . . . Clap Clap! Clap your hands and prepare to pat Pat! Take your right arm Put your partner's right palm with your right palm. Clap ! Take your hand back and clap. Pat! Take your right arm Cross your right ann with your left arm Pat your partner's leff palm with your left palm. Clap! Now back with a clap Slap - Take the pats of your palms and slap your thighs And watch the fun materialize As you sing this little song: My mama told me if I was goody . . . Three-six-nine the goose drank wine . . . Clap Clap . . . My mama told me if I was goody . . .

Look at my king all dressed in red

Betcha five dollars he'll kill you dead

the link for the lyrics to Sign of the times as you can not copy them.

The only one I have not been able to find is Sweet Memory!

Hope this helps!

80's Romance is on the album The very best of the Belle Stars!
