I remember an interesting case that happened when I lived in southern Ca. A guy was driving his car and flipped off a cop. The cop was so angry he booked him into jail for disturbing the peace, When he went to court the judge dismissed the charges on grounds that it was a rude jesture yes but giving the bird was not a crime. The guy thanked the judge then flipped him off as he left the courtroom. The judge yelled for the baliff to stop him then gave him 60 days in county jail for contempt of court. lol true story

I have a friend who made the index finger extended/thumb ****** back "pistol" sign to a cop. The cop pulled him over, asked for license and registration, went over his car with a fine tooth comb and gave him a ticket for something that was not right with the car. As the saying goes "The V.C. [the Vehicle Code] is your p.c. [probable cause]." Once there is a reason to write up a ticket, there is reason to secure the car for weapons for the officer's safety. If that reveals anything in plain sight, you have a problem. If not, you still have a ticket, for something. And that is going to cost you. And if it is a moving violation, in some states you have to go to traffic school, which has been proven to kill massive numbers of brain cells.

It can be consider disorderly conduct, which is a ticketable offense. It may also lead them to suspect you may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, so they may want to give you a field sobriety test or want to search your house, car, ect. and in that case the would have probable cause if they think you are under the influence of something. And if you are, if you are outside, you can get a public intoxication charge as well, even if you are at home, if they really want to be asses about it.

Yes you can. Flipping birds at anyone is a fellony. If the cops get really pissed off, they can even arrest you.

Yeah.

In most places, I don't think giving an officer the finger is explicitly illegal, but believe me, he'll have plenty of reason to arrest you — for one, he can assume that you're intoxicated. You don't even have to fail a breathalyzer to be arrested for public intoxication. As long as you seem intoxicated. And giving a cop the finger could certainly give him reason to believe you're intoxicated.

No, the Supreme Court has ruled that giving the middle finger is not a threat. Although it might prompt them to find some other reason to pull you over.

Someday you may need to call 911 for a reason - to save your life, or the life of a loved one. You may want to report a crime if one is ever perpetrated against you.

You really need to think about who is going to save your butt someday when you need it. And don't think it won't EVER happen to YOU - life is very unpredictible.

Flipping them off merely illustrates your immaturity.

You will learn in life that we have many "rights," but we also have responsibilities.
