Ok heres what you do.
1. Cut down potatoes, bread, - substitute it with beans, vegetables, and fruit.
Do you like hamburgers? Fine! Buy 2! Then throw out the buns and eat the rest.
Its the Carbs! You dont need all of that energy unless you are a farmer or olympic swimmer.
2. Exercise
Walk down even to your local KFC or McDonalds and treat yourself if you can walk there - you will start getting into habits like walking but only if there is a reward.
3. Dont worry about what others are thinking
We are all fat at some stage. The others are more worried about themselves. When you start losing weight you will notice how great you feel - its a rush! It will just snowball.
4. Keep developing good habits
Shopping is part of this. Eat before you go shopping. Tell yourself that you will avoid the bread aisle, the chocolate aisle and buy some veges instead - (NOT potatoes). Get some meats, nuts and fruit and veges and icecream as a treat. When you cook the veges - you can use frozen and you can steam them - that is better than cooking with oil.
Good luck!

Hey, Violet! What's up?! I can tell u a way by which u can reduce ur weight in 1 month with any diet restrictions. U read it right - IN I MONTH WITHOUT DIET RESTRICTIONS!! Wait! There is a condition though. U have to follow what I say sincerely.
I call it the "GR8 INDIAN MAGIC". It's based on AYURVEDA. I hope u've heard about it. Am I testing ur patience?! Haha! Here's what u've to do -
The moment u get up in the morning, drink the juice of half a lemon mixed with 1 tsp honey. U can dilute it with water & increase the amount of honey to suit ur sweet-tooth (if u have 1) but don't reduce the amount & remember to have it with an empty stomach. Then have whatever pleases ur taste-buds; right frm cakes, burgers, ice-creams to chocolate, butter, anything & I mean it. In the night, have 1 handful of sprouted wheat.Yes, u have to sprout the wheat & have it as it is. Don't increase the amount of sprouted wheat as it'll lead to speedy weight-loss making u dizzy & tired.
There u r! Follow this sincerely (as if u can't! I bet it's the best diet-plan any1 ever gave u!!!) & u can see the magic, oops! THE GR8 INDIAN MAGIC for urself.
Yoga (another gr8 Indian magic!:) will also prove beneficial. Follow the 'asanaas' meant 4 weight reduction.
Another advice - follow vegetarianism.Don't slaughter the poor animals. They have the right to live as much as we do.Besides, u don't want ur stomach 2 b a mortuary, do u?
Contact me after 1 month.U'll be a different Violet alltogether! That's a promise; a promise of an Indian.U can bank on me. But don't 4get 2 follow the instructions.
Bye 4 now! Hope that'll help. (Psst! Y's the world running after modern medicine when we have our very nature's gift - 'Ayurveda' with us?

One of the best ways to start is to keep track of exactly what you eat. Write down everything. Or get yourself a diet program (several exist for the PC, MAC or pda) and keep track of everything for a week or two. Then gradually change one or two things at a time to make better choices. When you see that you are eating a Big Mac or double shake or something like that, you can substitute a leaner meat like grilled chicken and a diet soda. If you make these changes in eating gradually and then add more activity. Park your car the farthest you can from your office or the market or the mall and walk. Make it a little more each day. After a while if you are eating less and less fat things, you will not want them so much. And if you are feeling more energetic, you can add trips to the local Y or gym. Good luck!

Eat less.
Eat less simple carbs. No white breads, sodas, beer....etc..
Eat more fibrous foods...you have to use energy to digest fibrous foods, vegetables, beans, wild rice, whole grain bread.
You can also try taking 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon 2x a day with your meals. Cinnamon has shown to be effective against insulin resistance, which is a prediabetic condition. Simply put, what it does is make the food energy more available to your muscles to burn, instead of storing it away in your fat cells.
