True canker sores are from to much citric acid from certain fruits or juices. If I drink Several big glasses of juice in only a couple of days (expecially OJ) then I also get canker sores. I just lay off the juice.

Adelle Davis says it is from multiple nutritional deficiencies which weaken the immune system. She recommends a high potency multiple vitamin-mineral daily. I recommend using Colgate's Peroxyl Mouth Rinse. Good luck!

It could be due to the herpes virus (causes cold sores) or it could be a sensitivity to things like citrus acid.
