So I guess the only reason to use SLI is to have 2 cards like the x1950xtx just to be the baddest boy on the block, and not to try and save money with 2 slightly inferior and cheaper cards.

The X1900XTX should outperform the two 7900GT. SLI does not actually add quite as much to performance as some people think. Anyway to correct what the previous guy said, the X1950XTX is the best out right now, it uses the new GDDR4 RAM. This is by far the best card out now.

Get the Radeon X1900 XTX. Its the best card you can get out there today.

Also something you should know about GeForce cards. They CANNOT run HDR (High dynamic range) and Anti-Aliasing at the same time which will hamper your gaming experience. You can only run one feature at a time.
Plus if you get the Radeon you'll only take up 1 PCI slot whereas the GeForce card would take up 2.

The X1900XTX is a big enough powerhouse of a card to run any game out there today with great effects. I'd buy it but it costs a whole lot.

well ati's crossfire is not a really good proven technology we don't know if it works good. i never seen a computer run it. sli is a proven technology that works great with no problems. sure the x1900 xtx is a great card plus its a nice shiny paper weight to me. but compared two bfg 7900 gtx in sli mode i think it would smoke it by far.
