The Omani Rial ( currency of the Sultanate of Oman ) is divided into 1000 baisa. This means you buy 1 Omani Rial you will have to pay 282 Sri Lanka Rupee. So if you have a 100baisa note then that will be equivalent to about 28 Rupees and a few cents. This page has links to convert currency http://www.omanholiday.co.uk/aboutus.htm

The word Baisa originates from the Indian currency Paisa which was in wide circulation in Oman in the early 20th century. Since Arabic does not have a ‘P’ the letter ‘B’ was substituted.

Baisa comes in notes and coins, however since it is a sub-demoniation you may not be able to exchange it outside Oman. It is one of the largest demoniations in the world compared to other currencies.

The Central Bank of Oman has the function to issue currency and other matters to do with currency.
