I agree with everyone else...hormones. It's a known thing that alot of women are hornier during their period.
"Many women report an increase in libido during their period, though the jury is still out on the exact reasons why. It might have to do with fluctuating hormones, which tend to be high during ovulation and low during menstruation. It's possible that you're in an amorous mood because PMS is alleviated by the onset of your period. Or, you could feel sexier due to increased blood flow and lubrication in your below-the-belt region. Another theory: Maybe you're more relaxed with sex at this point of your cycle because you're less likely to become pregnant (though experts say there is still a slim chance that it could happen). It could also be a combination of any of these."
That's from Cosmopolitan magazine.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with it either. If you've been with a guy for awhile (or even a short time?) I don't think it's an issue to have sex during your period. Turn down the lights, put a towel underneath you and go for it. If they don't care, you shouldn't care either.
And besides that, I've read in many places it's GOOD to have sex during your period, it can prevent some problems.

There are certain points in a woman's menstrual cycle when hormone levels are shifting. That is the primary cause for the increased sexual desire. Some of the hormones produce a strong desire for sex... some produce a strong desire for emotional closeness. Around the middle part of your cycle is when you are most fertile. Estrogen is high at that phase. During the time right before blood flow, your progesterone peaks... progesterone gives you more of the feel good, wanting affection feeling. When the blood comes, everything levels off. If you find yourself more sexually aroused during that time, it might have to do with finding balance with the huge change in hormone levels.
Some charts of the hormone levels at different phases are below.

Intercourse with a menstruating woman sometimes feels extra-nice for the following reasons: 1. The vagina might be super-lubricated due to menstrual secretions. 2. The added menstrual swelling might help a woman have a really intense orgasm. 3. Some women get extra-horny during their periods; this might have to do with a change in hormones...

Are you a woman? Just trying to figure out why you think this is true. I'm not, I feel crampy, bloated and miserable. The last thing I want is something in there besides a tampon.
