Does U2 and Sonic Youth have anything in common?

And even if not, did they ever do any of the same concerts?

I thought that their names kinda related to flight and that perhaps U2 was the older and more experienced band playing a certain kind of music. And Sonic Youth were kinda like a more Youthful, not a big deal what plane, but quick yet not yet found their way kinda band.
