I'm an artist and a musician, and back in my day, yes, I smoked, drank, and experimented with drugs. I guess it must be the adventurous nature. Drugs were much safer back then, but what you get these days are so tainted, I wouldn't touch them with an eleven-foot-pole. But I still smoke and drink, though not near as much as before.

Yes I do, but only in popular music and more widespread in the art world. The thing is, most arty types are very intelligent, very highly strung (LOL twang!), have a lot of nervous tension to deal with as part of the creative process, tend to live alternative lifestyles between legal and illegal. As there is a fine line between creative genius and insanity many arty types have mental health issues. Some deal with this by developing addictions and habits that suppress some of the excess energy, including hard drugs, pot, cigarettes and alcohol.

Yea. I mean it's just like any other artist and we know picasso must have been on some stuff to create the things he did. To be as angry as DMX or Papa Roach you've gotta question what's not supplying the anger but the energetic rage. Life? Yes, but I think there may be more as there was with many who have died. Or to look at someone out of their mind with energy and anger was Hitler who was concocted all kinds of stuff by his German scientists, true story...

From what I've seen almost all of them do.
And if they're not smoking pot they're on some sort of perscription. Just like the rest of America.
This does NOT mean that they're out of control about it. Someone who smokes pot twice a week is hardly a rampant drug user.

Yes, especially many of the one's where their many of songs would make it to the top charts like numerous times. Their legendary songs were truly contributed by good hallucinogens or what not.
