The truth will come out regardless if you tell him or not. I think you need to ask yourself why you cheated. Drunken mistake or you have feelings for this other person? If that's the case, you need to talk to your husband and figure out if you have a future with him. I would rather be told by my boyfriend than me finding out later or him lying to me everyday.

It is obvious that you must not really be in love with your husband,so why stay?Why cheat?Why didn't you just leave first if you felt the stirring of an affair starting?I don't believe in cheating,and i don't believe in lying either,but if you don't have the feelings you should towards your husband then i wouldn't say a word,i would just end it with him and save him from any more shame and embarrassment or hurt that might come his way.People tend to talk,and somewhere down the line this might leak out.If you decide to stay,then like i stated,people have a act for telling things,so wouldn't it be best to come from you than the neighbors or friends or the grocery clerk for example?I don't know your story on why you did what you did,i don't know how your husband is,but if he is a good man towards you,then you should feel nothing but shame,but if he isn't good towards you,then you need to get away from him and not mention a word,just pack and go.Good luck in your decision!

I once went out with an old friend and I didn't tell anything to my partner..later on he found out himself and it was just terrible!! anyways I started crying and saying I'm sorry and stuff like that but my case wasn't that serious.. but he was mad at me because I hadn't told him anything about it ( it was just a lunch out) anyway we're OK now and every things back to normal.
So..If you're planning to cheat, First! don't do it it's not worth and it will ruin your relationship and Second If you have done it have the guts to tell your husband because believe me when he finds out himself it's not a pretty site!

No, you should keep it to yourself.

And if the other relationship is ongoing, you should grow up and be decent enough to tell the man you once loved that you no longer want to be married, which will probably hurt more than enough. Anything more just adds insult to injury.

it actually depends , if it was a one of and a stupid mistake do not wreck your marriage . a divorce for one bad decision (people do a lot worse ) if you do not love him and want to move on or want to continue the affair you will get caught any way and might as well tell him .
