I'm not exactly sure, but I think 'sometime' is two words. Some time. As in, some time in a day. Whereas sometimes means, for example, a certain thing happens only 'some' times.
...I really haven't clue... Helped?

The words sometime and sometimes arete similar but what makes them different is the way in which you use the words.
Let me give you an example of how to use them
'SOMETIMES i feel lonely'
'SOMETIME back the situation was totally different'

"sometime" means at an undefined time, or as an adjective can mean "at an earlier time" (as in "my sometime friend"; archaic use). Sometimes means occasionally with a degree of uncertainty.
Examples: The car will arrive sometime. (At some indefinite time)
The car will arrive sometimes. (Occasionally, maybe)
