It starts 45 days later but my friend says your not suppose to have sex for 2 weeks after the abortion because you could damage your cervix.

STOP WITH THE EFFIN QUESTIONS ABOUT GETTING PREGNANTE AFTER AN ABORTION!!! If you are that damned paranoid, GET A PREGNANCY TEST AND BE DONE WITH IT! Or, try this, STOP HAVING SEX!!!!!!!!! Okey?

You really need a reality check sweetheart. Yes, I know you want "medical answers only" But you have to understand that people are not going to look to kindly on some young girl having sex a week after she killed what could have possibly been the greatest thing in her life.

Now, for some medical info...since you so DESPRATLY need it.

"Abortion is an invasive surgical procedure. It will take your body a while to recover. It is important that you take extra good care of yourself while this healing is going on. "1

That means, no sex, no strenous activities, no nothing!

"If you have had a chemical abortion (RU486). Please follow your doctor's orders carefully. Be sure to return for all check ups. If you are a teen and you are experiencing discomfort, use pain relievers other than Tylenol. There is research that indicates using Tylenol may make your discomfort worse. If you are experiencing any physical symptoms that are troubling you, please see a doctor. If you are bleeding heavily or in extreme pain, please go to an emergency room. "2

"Your next menstrual period should start in 4 to 6 weeks." 3
that means, you could ovulat within 2-4 weeks afterwards.

SO NO MORE SEX, alright????

wow i didnt thin kyou could have sex after an abortion, the risk of infection is very very high, Immediatly after an abortion you are suppose to bleed for a least a week, and NOT have sex sex is the worst thing you could do after an abortion... If you havent started ovulating yet you need to call the clinic asap.. some clinics reschedule you for another appt. so you can come back after your abortion just to make sure everything is out!!!

What i think is sad here is that everytime someone posts a abortion question people jump to judge. I hate that and feel sorry for the women who need the advice but have people jumping at them and throwing all sorts at them. We live in a world of pro choice and abortion is just that. It gives women the chance to choose for themselves. As for the ovulation i would think it will start very very soon. As soon as the pregnancy hormones leave the ovulation ones will kick in. As for sex did you wait a few weeks? Hope so as everything may need time to settle down again. xxx

The only way for you to know if you are ovulating is to take your basal body temp each morn, same time and before you get up. You should see a pattern in temps that leads up to and after ovulation. You can get the basal thermometer at Wal-Mart for about 8 dollars. I use a wonderful FREE website called Fertilityfriend.com...it graphs your temps for you, keeps track of your fertility signs, tells you when you ovulate and also tells you if there is an implantation dip in your temps. You can also use Ovulation prediction kits, but they only measure your LH surge and give you a ball park time for ovulation...they do not pin point it. Oh, and it is possible to be ovulating while you do not have your period, just like it is possible to have a period and not ovulate.

I wouldnt think that it would be in everyones best interest if you had sex right after killing your baby.

Although having an abortion doesnt really show that you care much about your childs interest.

Please, Please, Please I am begging you to get on some other form of brith control, the pill, the patch, SOMETHING!! Please! You have ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS having sex if you have NO FREAKING CLUE how your body works in the first place. But at least if you are on some kind of birth control you will not be killing babies or spreading your ignorance to the next generation. Try to keep your pants on for a few weeks while you heal from the damage you have already done!

I didnt start my period until about 3 months after.. it varies. BUT you should wait to have sex right now. at least 6 weeks or you will damage your tissue.. you did just have your insides scraped clean. take that to heart

After looking at all your questions maybe you should wait on having sex until you are a bit older and more educated on the subject. Maybe then you won't have to run in for a 2nd baby killing....
