The world is cruel. You need to snatch your right. If some one is trying to kill you, why would you die like a coward without defending! But taking up arms is a different aspect altogether -- if the Govt is with you then you are a patriot, else you will be branded as an extremist.

The state of Jammu and Kashmir has been the main bone of contention between India and Pakistan and much water has flown under the bridge since 1948 with allegations and counter allegations. The main point is that "KASHMIR' (as a big entity with the POK or Azad Kashmir AND the state of Jammu and Kashmir under Indian rule) haS two main communities- The Kashmiri pandits and the Kashmiri Muslims both of whom proudly prefix their identities with the word Kashmir and its natural too. It is necessary for all sides ;- The Kashmiris (Both Pandits and Muslims), India and Pakistan to sit peacefully and resolve their problems peacefully. Politicking may be good for politicians but the damage it causes to the people is immeasurable. The dictum 'treat others as you would like them to treat them' is prudent and ethical and a spirit of 'live and let live' and compassion goes a long way towards peace than the present malicious violence there.

Why are there only Pundits in Kashmir, are there no other religions or communities there.
If a Kasmiri Pandit wants to be called that, KASHMIRI, why does he need India, why cant they say Indian Pundits born in Kashmir and then cry for help. They have to be either Indians or Kasmiris, they have to decide.
Every person is fighting for his or her right to live peacefully, why cant they, fight for what is your birth right.
It was the First Prime Minister of India that barred other Indians from owning land or property in Kashmir, since he was also a Kashmiri, if all had been allowed, we would have a multi cultural society there and none of this sectarian violance we see today.

It was a Kashmiri pandit like you who is responsible for the miseries you are facing.now. Yes, it is Nehru, who did not allow other Indians to come and settle in Kashmir, by introducing article 370 in the constitution. In order to safeguard the Kashmiri culture, this article was introduced and is the root cause for the demand of cessation.
Government of the day does not care for peaceful protests. And, you are seeing what is happening in the North East.
Only God can save this country.

Saw that News on Sahara Samay about a Kashmiri Hindu who was 1st asked to convert which he did. Then they asked him to become a terrorist but he protested & refused. Now he & his family have left the place due to fear of being killed & r roaming here & there.
So, yes, take up arms but only for self-defence.Protect urself. We r with u. But plz don't break the laws.I know it's a tough life 4 u but if even u break the laws, how can we proudly say u r our fellow countrymen? Anyways we're proud of the Kashmiri Pundits who haven't left the valley fearing 4 their life but r facing the situation bravely. All of us r with u. Take up arms, but as I said, only for self-defence.

Sad state this community finds themselves in. They can't fight for their land. That is only for the jehadis. They have not assimilated completely elsewhere and adopted their new found homes wherever that may be. They are longing for their motherland which they cannot go back to in most cases. Do not depend on anyone - live life on your own terms even if you have to accept new homelands. Be happy and proud.
