When I was in grade school back in 1974 my Dad got a big cardboard box, painted targets on all four sides, put a hole in the top for my head. I would slip this over my body and this was my halloween costume.... a bow & arrow target! I loved it and wore it that year trick or treating. In todays world I bet this would be considered child abuse and a dangerous thing to do. What do you think?

It would not be consider child abuse, it would be dangerous if someone stupid would really actually hit you with something.

For me, I don't see a problem with it. It sounds like it was a great homemade costume.

When I was in 9th grade in 1977 I couldn't figure out what to wear for a costume so I put on black tights & leotards, took to huge black plastic garbage bags, cut 2 holes in the bottom for legs & tied it around my waist, then I cut 3 holes in the other bag for my arms & head and tied it around my waist. But prior to securing the bags around my waist I put in crumpled old newspapers. I called myself the human trashbag! My daughter did this exact same costume last year!

I think that is a really ingenious costume. But yeah - it probably would be dangerous now. People are so socially retarded now a days.
