And does it make sense to you guys that I thought the most scariest parts in the movie were when Wendy found to dog man and the man and the part where we see Jack frozen? Am I the only one who got crazy scared of those two parts?

I wasnt thinking lol... I saw it on the guide and I was like "Oh I heard this was a good movie..." so I just watched... I promised myself I would only watch five minutes and if it got freaky I'd turn it off but I was so curious I couldnt take my eyes off of it. Windows open light off and everything... yeah... stupid choice... but hey, I've seen people who made stupider choices lol.

Oh I heard about Ju-on but I'm waaay to scared to watch that. When I saw the grudge for the first time I got so freaked I almost threw up lol. And then I couldnt sleep at all for 4 days and if I did it was in the morning where I knew people would watch me lol. But I got scared at the movie Signs and I still am so I dont think it would be wise of me to watch Ju-on... especially alone.

Yeah, I just watched it again last night. That moveie isa almost perfect. I agree withyou about the scariest scenes, but I want to add that the close up's of Jack's face when he is locke din the pantry, and talking to wendy on the other side of the door, are just as terrifying. And definitely the twins, so small and pale. When something that should be harmless, like little girls, is so palpably dangerous, it is the scariest thing in the world. (Gage in "Pet Sematary", the movie "Dolls" "The Good Son, The Bad Seed, The omen...) Oh, and if you think the movie twins are scary, check out the inspiration for those charachters. The photographer Diane Arbus photographed two little girls, identical twins, one slightly frowning, the other slightly smiling. It is just a picture of two cute little girls, but somehow very disturbing.

Yeah it does happen to me, but not in the Shining. I first saw that movie when I was 7 yrs old, it never had an impact on me. Now, I'm 21, and I saw the list of scariest movies of all time in MSN, I still can't understand what so scary in that movie.

Back to the topic, that happened to me when I saw "H.P lovecraft's Necronomicon" on tape. After watching, I got so depressed and promised to myself that won't watch it again ever. That very last episode was such a hell, I was chilling after watching it. I mean Literally! "I was shivering on my bed!"

Yes, you are right - both of those scenes where the scariest. I mean, what the heck what that thing, a guy in a chipmunk suit? Crap, that scared the daylights out of me. What about the twins - geez. I can only watch that movie during the day and there has to be at least 10 people with me. I can't believe you watched it alone at night. What were you thinking!!!

Check out Japanese horror, especially anything made by Takeshi Miike. You think the Shining was freaky, you ain't seen nothing yet. This was the first movie that made my skin crawl, and I laughed the hardest at ALL the Texas Chainsaw movies. It's a bigger psychological mindf**k than the Shining...

Check out Ju-on. It is the Japanese version of The Grudge. It is sooo creepy, not that it is scary the moment you watch it, but it plays head games with you afterwards.

For sure. I felt like that about Wolf Creek. It literally turned my stomach, yet I am glad I saw it, if only te remind me that there are some really really sick individuals out there.

yes, if the movie scared the hell out of you even after all this time than it's got to be a great movie.
