DO you think that people are MORE rude and willfully ignorant now than in the past...or ???

Do you think that people in the West and in different cultures are more rude, disrespectful and willfully ignorant now than in recent decades, or do you think it might just seem that way because of the huge increase of media coverage and the internet today that makes information move much faster than in the past?

People all over the world are definitely more rude now than before. As for the ignorance, I feel that it's the closed mindedness and fear of the different topics that are coming to light, (religion, racism, stereotyping, sexual orientation) by the media/Internet, that were never talked about in the past.

Absolutely not. We have better and more access to knowledge than ever before, literacy rates have never been so high. We do know more and more about less and less, however.

As for rude and disrespectful, please read this famous quote:

people are more rude now than before, and its not just other countries, its our nieghbors, our children, our polutitions, and yes our president. people dont believe in old fashin rules, its a nosy gossipy,lets see who I can get into trouble, and make miserable today.people just cant seem to wait to "get off" on making someone sad,miserable,depressed,or even angry. maybe thats why some people "just snap". what ever happened to helping someone and not expect money, just a simple "thank you", and not be thinking how they can rob or beat you for a payback for that "nice deel" they just did. As for our rude kids, well cant blame it all on the parents, but can blame 98% of it tho on them, parents learn to say no and mean it!

People are not rude the situations they face make them rude...in dynamic world where everyone jus sees himself and forget abt others he will thus definately be rude & ignorant becoz he doesnt care of others feeling....No west no east r diffrent all r same...
BUt with our care ,truthfullness,calmness & love we can make world better place to live in friend..

People were always rude. I'm a good bit older than my picture would have you believe, and I can remember a time when most ordinary people didn't steal. Bike locks were the exception, not the rule.

We are an instant world. Instant coffee, drive thru restaraunts, cell phones, blackberries, etc. We want things taken care of right away. So, we don't bother to sort through our emotions and thought before we speak. It is also a world of payback, instead of pay it forward. Sad, really.

Our society has changed so much. It is becoming so much more socially accepted to be rude and ignorant. We are just ingnorant Americans, right? People have lost sight of what it means to be a lady or gentleman. We put up with so much more these days.
