For all the ladies.... if the money is being properly spent on the kids and you have nothing to hide why not show how the money is being spent?
Anytime I buy something, I get a receipt showing what I got and how much it cost. When I get groceries, buy something at 7-11, get work done on my car, I get a receipt. Why is it if I give her money I get nothing? How fair is that? Even when you paid your legal bills, it was broken down to show where the money went. Are you trying to hide something?
I get it.... I have a moral and legal obligation to financially support my kids, don't you have a moral obligation to show the money is going to the kids?
Hmm......

You need to see things this way. Who is paying for a roof over your childs head she is. Who is paying for the power that the child needs she is. Who is buying special things that the child is she is. Who is putting food on the table most of the days she is. I am not trying to be a smart *** but you need to know that she is probably paying for these things out of her pay check. What she spends on the child support could be anything because the money just goes into the bank.

No, your obligation is to pay what is court ordered. She can spend it on whatever she sees fit to. I took my ex to court because he had not paid child support in a long time and irregular at that, he asked the same question and the Judge told him that it was his obligation to pay the court ordered amount, and it was my obligation to feed, clothe, and house my child, and which part of the money was spent on which obligation was irrelevant. LOL

In some states you have the right to know where the money is spending. Check with the court.

according to the domestic relations here in PA no you do not have that choice they can even make a house payment car payment utility payment and that is considered going towards the kids because that would be a roof over their head. a way of transportation and necessary utilities to live. do i agree with that absolutely not because i know that there are a lot of children going without because the child support is not being properly dispersed..... good luck to you

Usually no.
BUT... (this is what I did) if you are asked for ANY money above & beyond your regular child support payments. Demand itemized receipts. No receipts, no money. And then only pay half. This kept me from being scammed more than once.

As long as the kids are taken care of that is all that matters.
This includes electric bills, car payments, house payments. They need clothes and food. And pencils for school.
I used to feel guilty for using part of my child support for car payments or rent. The judge explained to me that is part of taking care of my kid. Really it is if you think about it. I don't feel guilty anymore. I don't go overboard with expensive cars and houses either. You never know when that support money isn't going to come.

No. If you wanted to dictate where the child support money goes you should have stayed married or gotten married, whatever your deal is.

if your children are being well looked after. They are fed clothed and housed then no you dont. The money is for there welfare and if they are properly cared for then you can see where your money is going to. What if she said I dont belive thats all you can pay so show me a record of what you doing with it.

Does your child eat every day? Have a roof over it's head? Have clothes on it's back? If you can say yes to all these then you have your answer. Life is hard enough without going out of your way to make it harder!
