i did notice that when expats leave Singapore, they tend to put up advertisements in Straits Times classified ad for open house sale. i think this is a good place to go to. Best wishes.

Nowadays new furnitures are very cheap,just look through the newspaper on Friday or Saturday.Old furniture if are good quality could cost u more than the new ones.If u are just using for three years new n cheap furnitures will last u until then.

Check out Salvation Army's thrift shop. They do carry some furniture donated by the public in good condition. I think the shop is located in Upper Bukit Timah Road, please call them in advance to check opening hours etc.
Also check the classified ads in The Sunday Times (Singapore) for garage sales.

the best is to look under classifieds in the straits times. Look under garage sale. U can get a good bargain. U can also try the salvation home store.

There is one shop at Jurong East selling such furniture. It is opposite Chinese garden MRT station. The furniture is very cheap.

check out ikea for new cheap furniture. Besides, I've been using ikea furniture, by the time u reach the 3rd year, it's time for you to change a new one.. ^_^

i believe courts furniture store has a section that resells re-possesed furniture. these are furniture that customers who are not able to meet their monthly payments and courts have re-possessed them. most are in good condition. ask the customer service about them.
