How do I make a light flicker?

Question

At haunted houses, they have lights that flicker as if there was an electrical problem. How do I do this? Can I buy a simple module? Can I make it? I want the randomness of these lights not a strobe light

if your using straight electricity its tough but a frys electronics might have something,you could also try using flicker bulbs from ace hardware(they imitate candle flames)and if you can find some that shine a bright luminesence,(most are only about 25 watts)you could use a dimmer switch to almost control the output of electricity flowing through it
