The only place I know that's free is classmates.com. But if you don't know enough about your friend, such as where he/she went to school, year graduated, etc. then that won't help you either.

If the person you are looking for has an unusual last name, go to any white pages web site and look up people with the same last name in the town the friend is from. Don't be shy about calling if you really want to find the person. Chances are, with an odd last name they may be related. Good Luck.
