im writing a research paper and im having trouble finding an interesting topic before the 1700's? any ideas or suggestions

Wow, there's a lot that went on before the 1700's. You have the ancient greeks and romans, egyptians, prehistoric civilization, european art and architecture from the middle ages to medieval times. As far as North American history, I have always found the Roanoke colony to be a fascinating subject.

I would suggest going to a museum, and finding an exhibit that appeals to you, and structure your paper around that topic.

the evolution of certain inventions. how did people back then bathe, wash clothes, or cook? transportation would be good, so would anything having to do with medical breakthroughs..
