I think you already have to be a little stupid if you believe Fox News in the first place. I'll watch it sometimes just for a good laugh. And just because it has high ratings doesn't mean it's a more valid news show than any other one. Just look at how more popular Jerry Springer was from his rival talk shows. Does it mean that Jerry Springer is a better more intellectual show? No, it's just makes good tv cause it's so beyond ridiculous. Just like Fox News.

I think news in general now a days is a waste of time. Journalists today are more interested in getting the scoop first, regardless of the actual facts. Anybody remember the Sago mine disaster. No way that happens if the reporters take their time to corraborate and verify that information. Also, the 2000 elections. It seems like they were in the back flipping a coin every five minutes.
They also need to try to be more OBJECTIVE in their reporting. They need to tell people like Candy Crowley to stop reproting thie feelings and stick to the facts. If I wanted to know how they felt, I'd read the op-ed section of the newspapaer. And Fox has Shepherd Smith with his off the cuff remarks about stories he's supposed to reporting on.

All new channels have turned more into entertainment and commercials that reporting real news. Also look at the rate of bad news com-paired to good news, not much good news reported. This is done to keep the fear factor high, as I see it.
They all report what they think we need to hear or what the Government tells them to report. The idea or any news channel or the US Government telling the truth is a big joke, get real.
Its the dumbing down of America. Why I watch the news for weather report only and 3/4 of the time it is wrong as well.

I really think that fox news makes people stupid with their lies and brainwashing schemes. My in-laws have always been neocons but they started watching fox news channel about 5 years ago and they have turned vicious and very closed minded and just plain crazy. Now they are rabid repugs and hate anyone who is a democrat. Their friends are picked by their party affiliation. They are totally brainwashed by this white house affiliated news channel. I hate visiting them cuz they keep their tv on fox news all dang day long , every day! They used to be pretty smart before faux news but now they're plain stupid and hateful too!

Funny how it is hated. I am an independent and I watch it as it is the ONLY channel that puts a Democrat and a Republican on at the same time. Where I can get both sides viewpoint. I think the biggest reason that Democrats want to believe it is only for stupid people, is the higher ratings also shows that more politically interested viewers watch Fox, and they are likely to vote conservative. Most Democrats have no problem with it, but Liberals it seems, cannot stand opposing viewpoints. Sounds alot more like Socialism

I'm not stupid. I try to watch Fox News regularly to get a feel for views opposite my own.
But they DID call Foley a Democrat!
They obviously TREAT their viewers as if they were stupid!

It contributes to their stupidity. They've got to be a little idiotic to buy all that crap FOX serves up. And of course FOX panders to that. Go figure...

I don't know, hard to determine cause and effect there, but I think the bizarre stuff they make up on Fox News is hilarious to watch. Great entertainment.
