Yesterday I was reading an older children's book to Logan that had the title Something Queer Happened at the Ball Park about a girl loosing her baseball bat. I had to explain to him what Queer meant. I think some really odd stuff has happened in regards to laws, attention to the immigration/terrorist problems etc. When I was talking to my father about Foley hurting the Republicans he said he is a pediphile and he did not do much for the image of gays either. What I have to say about the two 'gay' Republicans is they had other issues such as one was dishonest married a woman concealed the fact he was gay to get ahead in the world whereas Foley as my father says may be covering up his issues by saying he was molested as a young boy because that has not been proven yet that it occurred much less by a Clergyman.

Thank you all for answering I did not expect any responses to this question. All but one had at least one good point whereas one was just plain offensive.

Not any more queer than the Democrats.....

Strange where was the equal treatment of Mel Reynolds?
In August of 1994, he was indicted for having sex with a sixteen-year-old campaign volunteer yet was allowed to continue running for re-election. In November of 1994 he was reelected. Reynolds initially denied what he claimed were racially motivated charges. On August 22, 1995 he was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. He resigned his seat on October 1, 1995.

Reynolds was sentenced to five years in prison and expected to be released in 1998. However, in April of 1997, he was convicted on fifteen counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators and as a result, was sentenced to an additional six and a half years in federal prison. After serving 42 months of his 78 month sentence, U.S. President Bill Clinton commuted his sentence and Reynolds served the balance in a half way house.

And what about Gerry Studds...........

Studds is remembered chiefly for his role in the Congressional page sex scandal in 1983, when he and Representative Dan Crane were censured by the House of Representatives for separate sexual relationships with a minor – in Studds's case, a 1973 relationship with a 17-year-old male congressional page.

During the course of the House Ethics Committee's investigation, Studds publicly acknowledged his homosexuality, a disclosure that, according to a Washington Post article, "apparently was not news to many of his constituents." Studds stated in an address to the House, "It is not a simple task for any of us to meet adequately the obligations of either public or private life, let alone both, but these challenges are made substantially more complex when one is, as I am, both an elected public official and gay."

As the House read their censure of him, Studds turned his back and ignored them. Later, at a press conference with the former page standing beside him, the two stated that what had happened between them was nobody's business but their own.

The Republican party has a history of pushing things under the rug. These revelations have always been there but are now coming forth. You cant hide things forever.

Everyone has dirty laundry.

Ohh,yes my friend their sure is! How can we trust them running the country when we can't trust them with the most important thing, our children! It's his own affair if he chooses to be gay, but it's another thing if he wishes to use kids in his sickness! He should resign, and take everyone with him who helped cover up for him in this sickness!

this is probably why so many child molesters and rapists are going free on probation, they feel sorry for them . that's why they don't enforce the laws they voted on.

Queer as in odd? Yeah.

They still hate gays, because they assume, incorrectly, that all of this happened just because Foley's gay - and not because he's a criminal.
