Your mouse configuration may be set to have the mouse pointer snap to a default button in a dialog box. Click on Start, slide mouse point to Control Panel, left click. Then click on Printers and Other Hardware. When that window opens, click on the mouse icon. The Mouse Properties dialog box opens. Click on the tab labelled Pointer Options. Look in the Snap To section. Is there a check mark in the box next to Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box? If yes, then click the mouse over the box to uncheck it, then click on the Apply button at the bottom right of the Mouse Properties dialog box. Close the Mouse Properties dialog box and any other open Control Panel windows.

To use Snap To to reduce pointer movements
Open Mouse in Control Panel.
On the Pointer Options tab, under Snap To, select Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box.
Notes

To open Mouse, click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Mouse.
If you turn on Snap To, the mouse pointer automatically moves over the default button (such as OK or Apply) when you open a dialog box.
