Socket AM2 supports DDR2 RAM while 939 only supports DDR RAM. This is basically the only major difference.

Your processor is 939 and not in any respect am2 your perfect guess is to google the perfect chip on your mobo. Failing that locate out what the max chip your motherboard will take and get the perfect one you could have both Intel and AMD have replaced the sockets as to many chips were getting damaged pins socket 775 (Intel)and AMD (am2) both artwork an same way as they both have clasps that you lock down first after putting the chip in( no chip has pins only the board). So locate out on the internet the way you modify a 939 processor. No offence yet i'd purchase some thing like that of a comp keep and not in any respect ebay. only had a short look and your motherboard does no longer help new duel-center-triple center chips amd chips they only artwork in am2 forums

Nothing. That's why everyone who already owns a Socket 939-based system isn't upgrading yet. Well, those of us who didn't decide to go with Intel's newest, the Core 2 Duo, that is. I have noticed that they overclock SLIGHTLY higher, if maximum overclocking interests you.
