Congrad. first of all on the news of a second child coming. She needs to eat smaller meals only when she feels like she can hold it down. But, she does need to eat! Avoid fatty foods, they can make you feel nausea. And there is nothing really wrong with drinking a good classic coke; it helps with a queasy stomach and helps to hold food down. But a reg. classic coke does have caffeine in it-so, I would try and limit the coke as much as possible. The caffeine-free does not work. You would need the Regular Coke. I know that the Iron and prenatal meds can make her nausea and she needs something on her stomach to take her meds. Other wise, she will be vomiting up her meds and she needs them to maintain her balance of health to her and the baby. As I said before, smaller meals, her favorite meals-things she likes, anything she likes to maintain her health. And crackers do make a world of difference for nausea. If it is really bad the doctor can put her on a medication called Phenergan to help keep food and meds down. She may need to consult with her doctor soon anyway if this continue on..this can't be good for her health or the unborn child. Good luck.

My nausea was so bad that my midwife prescribed vitamin B-6 shots my first pregnancy that I gave myself every morning. We went that route because it didn't have any of the possible risks of Phenergan (Phenergan is still pretty low risk for baby).Your wife's OB might be able to prescribe Phenergan for short term use, it's better for the baby then not being able to eat anything. I took it for a week when I was 10 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and had to travel by boat (uggh). Taking B-6 tablets can help if she can keep them down long enough, or sucking sour lollipops like PreggyPops. If she is taking a different prenatal vitamin then last time, it might be making her sick. Ask the Doc about switching or just not taking them for a couple of weeks to see if the vomiting lessens. Most Dr.s will tell you that a prenatal vitamin is just extra insurance, Mom and baby really rely on food for the building blocks of life, so whatever helps her eat, and keep it down.
I'm a health nut normally, but sipping on an ice cold coke that I kept in the back of the fridge every half hour or so, took the edge off. carbonation and cola syrup are known for helping nausea. I had my hubby bring home those bowls of already cut up fruit from the grocery store, and I nibble that. Protien powder added to a banana smoothie often stayed down, nice and bland. Congrats and hope she feels better soon.

I had morning sickness for five months straight. Not only was it in the morning it was noon and night. Nothing really will take it away.... sorry to say. There are a few things that kinda helped me but I always felt sick. I think Coke works better than sprite. Peppermint candy was good. Crackers did not work. The best thing is to drink something as soon as you get up so that you have something on your stomach to throw up. Its even worse to dry heave or throw up stomach bile. If all else fails talk to your doctor and maybe they can give you some meds. congrats on the baby!!!

unfortunately there isn't a whole lot you can do to for morning sickness (which doesn't just come in the morning unfortunately) The people who said saltine crackers and sprite were right on, thats about the best things you can do. If it won't let up there is a pill pregnant women can take, it's called phenagren (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) but it is perscription and I've known pregnant women who have taken it for the vomiting, I have taken it too, it helps a great deal.

This second time around, my nausea seems much worse than my first, also.

The best thing that my husband does for me is keeping the house ODOR-FREE. That means emptying garbage, diaper pails, etc. very frequently. Keeping kitchen and bathrooms clean. Keeping the house aired out. Smell is a big trigger for me.

Also, have her ask her doctor about the B-6 and Unisom combo. It's a homemade version of an anti-nausea medicine available EVERYWHERE except the U.S. I used this during the first half of my pregnancy and it was a lifesaver. It's effective and SAFE, but you have to ask your doctor first.

Good luck. You're a good husband to want to help out!

This is normal.....there is not much you can do for it unfortunately. Try some lemon herbal tea with honey, in the morning when she wakes up have her stay in bed a few minutes longer to completely wake up.......have some graham crackers or something like that next 2 her bed so she can nibble on them b4 she gets up. I hope this helps. Good Luck... I feel for her with my third child I was vomiting thru the whole 9mths. Not fun.

What we did with me is maybe drinking water or eating a cracker but tried to stay away from food that the smell was to strong to handle. You might want to alsogo to ask.com and put in the same question and see if you can find a site that may help out.

Must be a girl coming :) Soda crackers help alot with the nauseousness. Be patient and have a bowl handy. Give your wife kisses and assure her it will be over soon.
