I'm an asian female...most Asian men have a tough time socially because (in America) they're not looked at as masculine. So, they may not have the same social practice and comfortability. Now, if he's straight off the boat, then he may just have cultural shyness. Just tell him to shut the door when he pees. If you have an asian-female friend, she may be able to help him out.

maybe he's just weird, i'd be creeped out too, maybe it's an asian thing but i doubt it, i'm sure there's american people that act that way too, maybe (unless he's asian-american) he just feels out of place here and misses his home country or his family, i'm not sure there is a way you can really help him unless you just become his friend and start taking him everywhere with you so he meets some of your friends...anyway, good luck

Take him to more partys or just out with the guys. Get him used to going out. That's all I know to do. good luck.

I agree with Jenny J's answer however, Asian girl's may not help. Girls in general might!

Why is he your responsibility? Maybe he doesn't feel bad about himself.
You are measuring him up against your own standards. People have their own ideas, personalities, and expectations. Maybe your ideals, ideas, are too high, or just different than his. Unless he asks for your help or advice, my advice is to just leave him alone. Help is no help, unless wanted.

hmmm.....

Well it is a fact that Asians are timid people. Just observe him carefully and look for signs of what he likes to do to have fun.

Hope this helps.

Peace.
