When is is it truly the time to take the highroad? I know not always... actually usually we don't take the highroad. To what extent is revenge tolerated. What reason is there for revenge?

Revenge is the Lord's!
Legally, it is the role of the courts.
Personally, it is almost always best to take the high road, and forgive. Forgiveness has a way of melting angry hearts.

The exception is when the offense has been perpetrated by a sociopath or psychopath. The latter need to be dispatched .
The former need to be dealt with in like fashion as the offense. They feel no emotion, so forgiveness is immaterial to them.

You've first got to decide who you want to be. If you're the kind of guy/gal that strives for virtue and wants to be the "good guy" then try to avoid revenge at all costs. If you're ok with being the bad guy (and some of us are) then revenge might be fine for you. Just cover your a$$ and try to plan ahead so you're not causing a tit for tat situation where you both end up destroying each other. The goal of revenge is to have your day of reckoning in a way that you won't get in trouble and the other person can't do anything back to you.

Its the hardest thing to do "take the high road". Oh I know how things can eat you up. But in the long run you will be OK with letting it go.

my grandfather always said to take the high road and that the best revenge was living well ... never get revenge on anyone, they are not worth it and believe me karma will haunt you ... so just live well on your high road and make sure that they see you happy and content!!
