Examples of what I mean:
1) leggings under large tunic sweaters or miniskirts
2) stovepipes or "skinny pants"
3) jewelry with large, gaudy beading
4) punky ankle boots
5) dresses and skirts with slight (or not so slight) poofing on the bottom
I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Of course, the way people are wearing these now is somewhat updated from the 80's. But they are still reincarnations of the 80s.
I hated it at first because when I heard people talking about the 80s coming back, I envisioned it in a very literal way. But now I can see how some updated versions of these trends could be incorporated into a new millenium wardrobe.
So what do you think?

Ok, yes there have been small 80s bits and pieces here and there for the past couple years. But fall 2006 is the first season that designers really bravely put forward VERY 80s looks... as described above. So I am sorry, but these looks I am talking about have NOT been around for 2 years...
