I was sooooo paranoid about that when I had my son but big surprise is you are so consumed with what is happening in that moment that you couldn't care less if you do or don't. It is not as common as some people think. They can give you something before hand to clean everything out first and ease your mind before you have to push but like I said, it will be the last thing on your mind. Plus...Doctors and nurses have seen it all and wouldn't give it a second thought if it did happen. You will do fine and just remember giving birth is natural, billions of women before you have gone through the same thing. And just think.....Angelina Jolie has even been there with probably the same worry. You will be great. Congrats on your upcoming arrival!

Yup you can have it coming out of both ends actually. Throwing up and "pooping" on yourself. Alot of people do pass gas or poop from the pushing but since the head is putting pressure on that area it ends up being lil rabbit like droppings. Anyway ....you can ask for an enema some hosptials do this routinely. I personally HATE them but if you are worried about it that is one way to clean out your system to avoid the embarassment. I did get sick during labor with my first child and was actually brushing my teeth inbetween contractions to get the taste out of my mouth. LOL Dont worry too much about it you will be more concerned with getting the lil one out of you then being embarassed and the Drs have seen it all before there isnt much you can do to sicken or freak out a Dr

yes it can happen, how do I know you ask? because it happened to me when I was giving birth to my second son. I told the Dr. that I had to go number 2 and he said I need to check your dialation first, he said sorry you can't go because it's too late the baby is coming, when you get a contraction push, and when I pushed something more than a baby came out, he said don't worry about it, it happens all the time. I was still embarrassed my it. So yes it can happen.

When your in labor they tell you to push as if your having a bowel movement, so you are using exactly the same muscles to deliver. You can ask your doc about castor oil b4 hand to clear yourself out at home or they can give you something before delivery. dont worry about it though. It happens all the time and it will be the last thing on your mind as your pushing a human out of your vagina.....dont stress yourself

Yes, it happens, but by the time you reach that point you probably won't care. Besides, any shred of dignity you may still have when you get to the hospital will be immediately stripped away in the delivery room. Having a baby is a beautiful thing... but it ain't pretty!

yes it happens

I'm sorry ladies but when the baby first comes out, it is the most ugliest thing. I know a lot of you say it is the most beautiful thing but the kid looks 1000 times better the next day.

I have heard of this happening but it neverr happened to me and I have had 5 kids..... I know a woman that works in L&D and she said that it is common but nothing to be ashamed about. The doctors know what to expect as well as the nurses.

Yes unfortunatly it does happen. The nurses see it all the time, so they don't care, and when you are pushing, you really won't care at the time. My friend's doctor told her that it shows them that she is pushing properly. You can ask them for an enema though if it'll make you feel better.

It happens and they're expecting it. Don't worry when you're in labor, you won't give a darn! I know you don't think that's true, but anyone who has delivered will vouch for this.
