or the worst thing about giving birth?

The worst part about my first pregnancy was going in at 39 weeks for what I thought was the final check-up and finding out my son had died in utero. As it turned out he wouldn't of been able to survive outside of the womb more than a day or so because of the particular birth defect he had. My doctor said if I could stand it it would be better for my body to go into labor itself. Well, on his due date I insisted on being induced-I couldn't stand it any longer. Birth was more difficult because he wasn't "helping'. But it was better for him that way. To go peacefully, surrounded by his mother's love.
Much better than going through birth, being miserable for a few days then dying.

Well, lets see...my first pregnancy and birth was great, no problems at all. My second one was great, till I went into labor, had to have emergency c section as I was having incredible pain (back labor) and he was turned "sunny side up" so didn't have enough room for his head to come out. My third pregnancy was also great, giving birth no problem, had epidural. Fourth pregnancy was finally a girl, but she was going to have problems when she was born with her kidneys, but she ended up being still born at 34 1/2 weeks because her cord got twisted 5 times (Losing her was the worst pain of my life) Then pregnancy #5, another boy, Hubby and I think we are "pros" at this, however, after much pushing, epidural only lasting 30 mins, and much pain, his head emerged, only to have his shoulders get stuck, and he almost died. And last but not least pregnancy number 6 was great, except for the insomnia, a little girl again thankfully, and I had a c-section and had my tubes tied with no problems except for developing a major infection where the cut was made. All are healthy, beautiful children today, and would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

I've gone through two vaginal deliveries. The pain was awful with both. Contractions feel like someone tied a rope around my waste and pulled the knot so tight that I was going to split in two. You feel like your going to be pushing forever because they just do not seem to be able to fit until the head and shoulders arrive, but the worst part was my last delivery. My newborn baby girl did not survive the birth. 6 lb 2 oz and very beautiful but I had to say goodbye the same time that I said hello. I'll never get over that.

back labour!!!! but yes in my case something did go wrong the hospital inserted a uterus drain (i had emergency c-section) and the doctor had sewn the damn thing in for 3 days I was in unbareable pain but nobody would listen on the third day they came to pull it out so I could go home, but as I said they had sewn it in so it wouldnt come out they pulled so hard the thing broke and we are talking thick plastic here thats how hard they pulled they had to reopen me up and remove the broken peice. I had to stay in the hospital with horrible treatment for 3 more days to spend the next year in absolute pain and then when I had my daughter they had to do a c-section again because they werent sure what happened I have felt a tillion percent better since then. but god was it horrible and I thank my lucky stars I never had my daughter at the same hospital.

the only apology/reason I got for it happening was from my doc of my daughter who read my medical records said that the only thing he could come up with was that it was 4 in the morning the doc was probably tired. It took 3 surguries to fix the problem never mind the 2 c-sections so thats 5 sugurys in 1 year.

Thank God its over and I only suffer mild pain today

the contractions hurt soooo badly..i couldnt deal with the pain and had to get 2 epidurals (the first disconnected itself somehow and the second one quit working after an hour) and a spinal shot. that was the worst in my opinion. the worst part of my pregnancy was having cravings for spicy things and eating them knowing later on that i would get bad heartburn.but once i had my daughter, it was all worth it.

Worst part of a pregnancy is miscarriaging .... another side to that coin is having an emergency C section only to find that your baby is a blue baby and needs to be taken to ICU as it has medical conditions with his heart and lungs....

i loved being pregnant.....although i was 8months in over summer and i found the heat was a bit of a killer.....i had no ankles at the end of the day because of swelling and my legs looked like tree stumps....lol
The birth of my first was scary a little because everyone loves to tell you all the horror stories that they or their friends had...but you know.....its not that bad....its painful but worth it....
If giving birth was such a horrible thing then why do most women including myself go back for seconds, thirds etc etc

heart-burn, being huge, not being able to sleep, headaches, nose-bleeds, pretty much everything except knowing you have a lil baby inside of you- that is pretty cool. Labor- the best thing is that you know your pregnancy is almost over and you finally have your little baby in your arms. *Something not pleasant to think about. AFTER pregnancy: having extra fat, not sleeping, episiotomy (pray you don't have one of these) I didn't want to leave the hospital. After everthing though: I would do it over again in a heartbeat.

Pregnancy was fine, no complaints or problems, but the whole thing about getting bigger and bigger really got to me after a while. Thinking about the weight I had to lose was always in the back of my mind. Luckily, if you breastfeed it pretty much melts off.
