Look around at Thrift shops like Goodwill and Salvation Army, Garage Sales, look on Craigslist, Ebay (but add in shipping which can get pricey) etc etc etc..there are plenty out there. Even Best Buy sells new componet type ones for around a hundred bucks and so does Radio Shack.

The cheapest used record players are often big console stereos in Thrift shops donated by old folks who dont use them anymore. You can easily find these with a bit of looking for less than fifty bucks and often half that, but take along a record you know well and try it out before you buy it so to make sure it works.

Needles can be bought at Radio Shack or online if you ever need a new one for an old record player for around 15 dollars or less. Be sure and wipe off the old records with a damp cloth before playing to remove dust and keep the needle in better shape longer.

I got a old Magnavox console record player and I even run my CD player through the aux channel and I think it sounds pretty good for being 30+ years old!

You are asking for good condition AND cheap? Well, which do you want?

Thrift stores are a good starting place. Many older record and cd stores have old models to sell as well.

You can always check Craigslist, or the classifieds.

I suggest a manual turntable, or at least a semi-automatic one. Don't get a changer.

Technics made some great turntables in their day.

Look in the yellow pages for a pawn shop -- I'll bet you can get one really cheap.
