Well we all know its not NY, top ten list and here is a hint, its not always the most populous state that has the most.

Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, Virginia, and Cali.

with miss#1 in most results Ga#2 , VA#7 the other states change in different results found depending criteria

Florida has the most. California, Texas, Lousiana, Georgia, Ohio. The only states to not have any is Maine, and I think Vermont.
Per population Lousiana is most represented. And South Carolina is right up there too.

California has the most pro team so be default wouldn't they have the most NFL players? NY might be tied if you consider teams that play in New Jersey as being in NY.
