You are free to say Merry Christmas, you just can't use public money or public land to do so. And it doesn't offend all immigrants, in fact it doesn't offend very many, it is only offensive when Christianity is promoted in a public forum with the use of public funds.

Peace.

Honestly, who cares? That whole Merry Christmas dodge was dreamed up to take attention away from the real issues like the hopeless war in Iraq, the biggest deficit in history, and the outsourcing of jobs. Say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or whatever you want. It's no big deal.

It is people like the ACLU that is filing suits against businesses for saying this, not the immigrants, at least not most of them. Most Mexican immigrants I have met are Catholic, and really get into Christmas. The Muslim immigrants probably don't like it very much, but screw them! A business should have the right to say anything they like to their customers.

It certainly does NOT offend all the immigrants. Most immigrants to the US are Christians.

As a matter of fact, I'm not a Christian, though I can accept "Merry Christmas".

I will say it anywhere anytime, I don't care if it's the middle of summer. I celebrate it and if you don't like it than ignore me and get on with your life. Since when does our right to free speech have a byline that says "Unless it offends someone". I didn't think so.

i don't want to offend anyone but it is my culture to say this. i am not beating their door down to try to give them a present so they shouldn't take it as i am trying to shove my beliefs down their throats. i think they should just take it as have a wonderful December. and I don't get offended when ppl say happy Hanukkah.i take it as have a happy time during the designated time period
