My Dell PC is currently connected to the internet (Cable), I would like to connect my Mac (which has no internet connection right now), which has the Airport extreme card in it. I was thinking of getting the Netgear router WGR614 to hook it up to the PC and have my Mac pick up the signal. Will that work or will I still need to get a USB network adaptor for the Mac? And are there any problems that I may have using the Netgear router with my Mac?

I want to connect the router to the cable modem that is connected to the PC. I have Optimum online and the modem (which is what Optimum gave me to use) has a USB port.
Thanks for the answers so far, but I didn't quite understand what reguser was saying about contacting my ISP if I can use a customer purchased modem. Did you mean router?
I don't know, I wasn't clear on your last paragraph.
Does anyone else use the modem from Optimum online (it's a Motorola Surfboard sb4200) and use the Netgear wgr614 with no problems?
